Question Wolff +10 Springs and plastic base

recently joined the forum since I was new to Lugers but have been a gun junkie for 40 years. I was having some feeding issues and thought that a Wolff +10 mag spring might be a viable solution as cutting any spring, in this case the recoil, has been ingrained as not to be done on any pistol.

Anyhow I was reading and saw that the +10 springs were not recommended for plastic bottom mags. Does anyone have any experience with this? Mags in question are Mec Gar.
