Default Recent Bar-B-Q get together

Clockwise from upper right:
Colt Police Positive, 1921, 38 Spl, 5" bbl, Nickel, Colt MOP medallion grips, unknown engraver.
Colt Detective Special, 1928, 38 Spl, 2" bbl, Nickel, MOP grips, unknown engraver.
Smith & Wesson Mdl 60, (Stainless Steel Chiefs Special), late 70's, 38 Spl, 2" bbl, Ivory grips, engraved by Ray Viramontez.
Smith & Wesson Mdl 36-1 (Chiefs Special with Adj sights & 3" bbl), 1967, 38 Spl, French Gray finish, Ivory grips, engraved by M. Woodson. Unverified story on this one is that the previous owner killed a Cougar with it and had it engraved to commemorate the occasion.
If anyone can give me any information on an engraver named M. Woodson, I would appreciate it.

Hello Hugh,

That is a nice grouping of pistols. I notice on the Model 36 it has adjustable sights as you stated. Was this a standard production? I thought all Model 36 Chiefs Specials had fixed sights. This may be a wrong assumption on my part.

Best Regards,

Hugh,

I enjoy posting of engravings done well...these certainly are. Thanks for sharing...

I hope to find a nicely engraved Swiss Luger one day in my travels. Plated as well. I am not kidding...

Toggletop,

It is a mdl. 36-1, indicating a 3" bbl & target sights, introduced in 1967 and made in limited numbers for several years.
