Pawnshop Hungarian M37

Happened to stop by a pawn shop/gunshop just to look and found this M37. It has some holster wear around the muzzle but the rest of the blueing is perfect. The bore is shiny and the gun appears almost unfired.There is almost no wear on the slide rails that should show wear if it was fired much. The grips are perfect and appear to be varnished.Serial # is in the 200,000 range and only appears on the frame behind the slide stop.
Just wished it had come with a holster as the holsters I have seen cost about as much as the gun!

Very nice gun. I'll look around on German auctions and see if I can find a holster fir it.

I have switched my collecting focus a bit as I have collected SA daggers and 3rd Reich items for the past 8 years or so. It seems that they have priced me out of the area for now and I can buy these small pistols much cheaper than daggers these days and still have a piece of history in my hands..plus I can shoot them!!

What caliber is the M37? Looks as though - with a magazine without a finger extension - it would make a good pistol to carry in a heavy pocket or in a concealment belt holster: provided it uses readily available ammo, like .32 ACP. (?)

Mine is a 380. When they produced the P37 for the Luftwaffe, it was made in 7.65. It was exactly the same size gun with an additional safety mounted at the rear of the frame. I believe the mags even interchange in the frames.

No, the rest of their pistols were just run of the mill modern guns. With guns like these, its just being in the right place at the right time. Guns like the M37 and Styers don't sell to most handgun buyers but to collectors like ourselves. They are not carry guns or everyday shooters.
