Default Basil_O, It is more than likely part # 108 that is rattling

Your rattle is perfectly normal. Part # 009 is held pretty tight by the mainspring even in the closed position.

The trigger lever (108) in the sideplate is not normally under enough spring pressure for it to be captive and if your Luger is clean and properly lubricated, it will be very movable and hence it will rattle if the gun is shaken. The only time this part is captive and can't move is when the trigger is partially pulled... before the firing pin is released.

I can't think of another single part that is not immobilized by spring pressure of some sort that would prevent it from rattling.

regards, John
