Default 9mm v .30 luger

This is a dumb question but I don't know any way to find the answer other than ask. Is there way to tell which lugers or 9mm and which or .30 luger. Brushy SE Okla.

never a dumb question.

only by the size of the bore. That said, the 7.65mm (or 30 luger) will go into the front of the barrrel, while a 9mm will not fit into a 30 luger.

You can "usually" tell by a picture and in real life fairly easy to tell.

Also, both cartridges will fit in the same luger magazines, and are interchangeable.

I am looking for a luger to shoot. A lot of times the sellers on Auction Arms and Gun Broker do not say rather the lugers are 9mm or .30. Brushy SE Okla.

Tac is quite correct. .30 Luger is a lovely round and I prefer it but cost is 9MM $6.50 .30 Luger $30-35. A huge difference to those who shoot 200 rounds a session. Jerry Burney
