The safety does not work on my pistol--22 EP cal ERMA Luger. It will fire with safety "on" and safety "off." I had trouble reassembling the pistol after cleaning with the problem being the lock washer thing for the safety, so I took it off.
Now however, I am unable to **** the pistol for firing. Does the safety have to be installed for proper operation, or do I have another problem? This newbie is in over his head and needs help. Any help, or comments will help.

I have done dozens of these guns over the years at my shop, but there is no way I can enter into an email exchange and fix the gun for you via LF. However you must have the safety, lock wast and all other parts you may have take off for the gun to operate correctly. It was designed with un-needed parts, added for the heck of it. Try and get a gun breakdown and see if that helps you.

This seems to indicate the safety unit should be put back on. Any idea if this will allow the pistol to **** for firing?
I thought the safety just blocked the gun from firing. Looks as if I have learned again. Thanks for your comments.
