Default Can anyone help with a barrel or top unit with a barrel on it?

I aquired a non-collector grade Luger that's functionally sound and safe to fire, but the bore has little rifling left. I was told to either get a new pistol or a new barrel. I found a few barrels easily enough through the various sites for a reasonable price, but the smiths in my area (North Central Virginia) are unwilling or unable to help. How much does this cost, money isn't an issue, and who can do this? Or does anyone know where one can aquire a complete top half with a barrel on it already?

Thanks

Default Talk to Hugh.

Hugh just rebarrelled a mismatched DWM for me with a six-inch 9mm barrel, and it's SWEET! Now I need to send it to Thor to bring the rest of the gun up to Hugh's rebarrelling standards. BTW, he has his own sources for barrels -- I've seen some variation in quality in replacements, so ya might want to ask him about supplying one of his. And his price was very reasonable, too.

Chris, I can supply top quality new 4"x9mm barrels for $50 or 6" for $60 and installation, head spacing, chamber ream and test firing would cost you another $100. I can also supply you with a stripped receiver with a new E.German import marked 4" barrel installed for about the same price. Tom

What do you mean by stripped? Does it have all parts sans toggle? I'm new to Lugers, so I know nothing beyond field stripping.

Chris, By "stripped" I mean no small parts attached. If you want the ejector & sear assy, these can be included for an additional $50, Front sight for $20 more or whole top including toggle assy for $250.

How much is it with everything sans toggle assembly? I can use my existing one.
