Default Gun Shops in NYC

Hey Y'all,

Any good gun shops in New York City that y'all can recommend? I have a day to explore tomorrow and I'm looking for any suggestions. Any help is most appreciated.

Thanks!
Tom

New York City has a couple Elite shops but I dont even think you can have a handgun in the city at all. You would be better suited to hit a museum I am afraid.

The laws there are scary.

I was going to reply to this, as a refugee from the whole NYC metro area...

There are a couple I believe, one or two even cater to non-law-enforcment types..problem is to get a handgun permit in NYC (not carry, but just a permit to have it in your premisis!) is somewhat tedious. It must stay locked up and always unloaded at home unless you have a premisis carry permit (another one that you can say "fat chance" to, generally)...etc etc etc. As per NY State law, if you are over the age of 25 and do not have a NYState handgun permit, you're not allowed to touch a handgun; even handling it is actually illegal. That was last I checked; they may have lowered that age to 18 now. It's been several years since I've checked.

Your best bet if you'd like to see some neat stuff would be to daytrip up to the US Military Academy at West Point, and check out their museum. Quite a bunch of neat stuff there (I grew up right next to the base, so I've been there a few times)

If you want to see some interesting Lugers, try the New York City Police Department Museum located in the Wall Street area.
