Received a 1937 shooter today with the following markings on the bottom of the barrel:
ZDF SLC UT P-08 9mm GER Can anyone tell me the meaning of these markings? Thanks, Luke |

ZDF is for the Robinson Armament Company. Web site URL is http://www.robarm.com
SLC is for Salt Lake City. UT is for Utah. P-08 is for the Luger Parabellum 08. 9mm is the caliber and GER is for Germany (indicating it is a commercial pistol) Hope this helps. Dok |

Thanks for the information. This is clearly a 1937 military Luger with all of the proper proofs, but I assume that the "commercial GER" simply means that the Luger was deemed non-military at the time of import.
