I have a raffle entry from California. Does any one know what the status of a Mauser 06/73 is with regard to importing it into California?

Noel,
I think it is a C&R if it has the swiss-style, front flat grip strap. If it has the regular P-08 grip strap it is not C&R unless one of the few C&R listed commeratives. |

Unless Calif law has changed since I left 12 years ago, all guns coming into Ca. must go thru a "tranfer dealer" so that the state can get their $15 with the DROS and check you out. Technically an 06/73 Mauser Parabellum is not classified as C&R, but even if it were as is the 06/71 Swiss version, the "people's state" PRK, doesn't recognize the C&R for out of state purchases. TH
