Anyone recognize the model/caliber of this barreled action?
I don't recognize the barrel contours, and the action looks shorter than a standard length Mauser...

John, If that rear sight is of the broom handle type and there are Farsi characters on it, it is probably a Persian carbine M98/29 or 49. TH

Wish I could tell you what it is... I only have the photo, and am trying to decide if it is worth $bidding on... The owner has no idea what it is, other than possibly a Mauser... I was hoping someone would definitely recognize the barrel/sight profile... Thanks for offering your suggestions.

John, Did you ask for any markings? Most original Mausers will have somekind of identifing marks.

Too late Ron... the listing has been removed from eBay... someone who didn't know what they had, and had posted only one photo was selliing the barreled action... but the ebay police found it...
