Hi
I see in books and manuals that they use a screwdriver to lift the frame disassembly lock. Should it be so stiff that I need a screwdriver to lift it? I can use my baby finger to lift the little lock on my pistol. Is this normal? I have no other broomhandle to compaire it to. Sticker |

Hello Sticker,
My will do the same(All matching 1923 era) When you **** the hammer and push the barrel back(point barrel down on a tabletop and push down on the grip THEN push the latch up the upper should come off.A screwdriver may be used if you can not work the latch. My gun had not been strip down in years so it was a little hard the frist time. But now that it is oiled, the latch will move with my finger, works great. Be careful after you pull the upper off as you can take the Lock group(hammer etc.)off the upper and it can be a little trickey to put back on with out the manuel. Michael

If the broom is in battery (forward postion) I find that the TD latch won't move without pushing down on the hammmer at the same time. This can best be done with one hand, if the broom is in the inverted position, then that you can push the frame forward with the other hand with the mag guts previous removed. TH

Sticker,
My broom TD latch is tight as well. If you must resort to using a tool, I suggest a plastic toothbrush handle. It won't scratch up the gun. KFS |
