about clips

as I wrote earlier I asked if my clips were original with black plastic bottoms on clips with rivets through the concave bottoms, I received a few responces an was asked what is the serial#'s which would tell you guys what I have and would give me more info on my new gun.Also one of my clips there is a missing metal stud on on side of clip which helps pull the spring down, should leave it alone or get it repaired an if repaired will it take away from its value. Taking these magazines with plastic bottoms apart is what the infamous Al Gore would call "risky business". They break easily, and if they have any cracks at all in them, they fall to pieces. Beware!

The TM for the M16A1 calls it a Magazine Assembly, and the magazine assembly is loaded from a Stripper Clip. The magazine is loaded from the stripper clip with the aid of a Stripper Clip Guide.
