Post Arty Rig

Hello,

A friend of mine got this 1917 Arty Rig to add to his DWM 1917 Arty. It is missing only the double mag pouch. Rig is in VG condition but leather is cracked at some places and there is some flaking. Rig is black ?? I'm used to brown Arty Rigs. Is that one correct It comes with a rod ( see other post ) & unmarked tool.

Were brown rigs produced in greater numbers than black ones ?

Thanks,

Mark

Kidvet, You can see the brown leather shining though. I suspect that this rig was dyed black, well after it's original issue in WW1. TH

Hello Mark,
at the beginning of WWI all the holsters were brown. Starting from the 25th December 1915 a directive states that all holsters for both P08 and LP08 have to be colour in black. Therefore the colour of your holster is correct.
Ciao

Hello Kidvett,

You might want to pop over to Jan Still's pistol site. I think a fellow in the Arty section just posted that he has a gaggle of those double magazine pouches (black in color). Someone advised him that they would at least be worth $ 5.00 each...

Regards,

Pete...

Hello B. Goodwin,

John D. has a hot link to Jan's site in the "Links & resources" section of the Luger Forum. I direct you there, as there are other good links as well...

Rergards,
