Hum-m-m-m. 30 cal navy toggle. More Importantly, the picture is not of the toggle for sale. Toggle pin doesn't look like the typical large headed toggle pin found on navy Lugers. Foreign seller, so there is no recourse if the product isn't what he says it is. This sale does not have a good feel to it.

Norm, why do you say that the toggle pictured isn't the one that is actually for sale? It seems to fit the description pretty well right down to the retouched checkering on the left side of the toggle knobs?

All of what you say is TRUE however, but if the price doesn't get outrageous, it would make a good toggle for a Navy Shooter...

The 06 model Navy don't have the large headed toggle pin you say,but the normal one.The first Navy model with the larger headed pin is the 08 model. The one one Ebay was a 06 one.

This toggle train one would be good to use it in a Navy shooter and preserve those original Navys for collections and not shooting. Believe or not, there are many Luger shooters that would like to have a Navy shooter. Somebody thought it worth the money, there are currently 13 bids and it is up to $300

Is there a vertical height difference in the front sight of a Navy versus a P-08...?

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

There is but I think most of the sight height is taken up in a TALLER front sight block of an original Navy barrel. You MUST match the type of rear sight to the type of front sight to make the combination shoot to point of aim. For instance, I fired GTs parts Navy, it had the proper NAVY rear sight but it had a normal 6" barrel set up for a normal P08 rear sight. Well, it was shooting OVER the 300 meter target with the rear sight set at 100 meters. If fact, it was shooting about 11 inches high at 25 yds. I am told you can take a mauser rifle front sight that will fit into the dove tail of a Luger barrel and file it down to match the elevation correction.
The Navy barrel has a taller front sight block than a regular P08 Barrel.
