Post World of Lugers by Costanzo on eBay

This rare and valuable book has just been listed on eBay... the starting price is $350.00 which is about what they have been going for...

I have no connection with the sale of this book and don't know who the seller is... but these books rarely come up for sale...

Good luck to all you Luger enthusiasts who might bid.

This book is a monumental effort and should be a part of every serious collector's library. Having said that, information has been made available that discredits much of what is in the volume. It is a worthwile investment but be prepared to make pen and ink changes (As has been the case with both Jan's and Charlie Kenyon's books).
Buy books, read, study and then talk to old timers....then, buy your first Looger.

Little story about collectable books!! And, why they're collectable!!! (20 years ago!!)I came home one day to find three of my books on the edge of my kids club house ... why were they there?? To dry out... seems as if my wife Carol ... (I love her dearly!!) Wanted to take some bubbles out'ta the water bed.. and she used some of my books for ballest.... THE BED LEAKED!!! They were... Buxtons P.38 vol. 1 & 2 ... and Constanzos WOL proof marks... BUT, it gets better... they might have made it... but the back yard sprinklers came on just before I got home... I put my hand up on the edge of the clubhoues plateform.. and just felt mush!! There they were.. soaked beyond repair!! $150.00 worth the books... now at 10 times the amount... I value my wife more then I value the books....But, it was close! Best to all...til...lat'r....GT

GT,

If I were you, I would bid $700 and get it. Be sure to show the wife the bill and remind her you are replacing just one of the books.

lew1,

You were VERY fortunate to obtain this book for less than the price listed. That usually only happens when the person that owns it doesn't know what it is worth.

All should remember that this book only had ONE printing... it is out of print, and the first printing was only 500 copies EVER...less of course, the one that GT was so unfortunate as to have destroyed, so there are now only 499 copies known to still exist and some of those have probably also suffered the same fate.

I did a Google search for the book and only found one other for sale on a European website for the price of 455 Euros ...which is quite a bit more than $350.00
