Post 1939 dated holster. Need your opinions.

Hi Everybody,
I happened to see the following auction on eBay for a nice looking 1939 dated holster.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=36049

The waffenamt is partially visible and it appears the makers code designation is EKS.
I thought the holster manufacturers started using the 3 letter codes in mid 1940.
I couldn't even find the EKS code in Jan Still's Third Reich Lugers.
As I looked at it closer it almost looks like a fourth letter (a partial P at the end?)
I was considering putting a bid on it as I need a holster for my code 42 1939 P.08 but am somewhat hesitant.
Any opinons would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Both Bender and Whittington report a manufacturer abbreviation of EKST or EkSt or EK.St. It is Ehrhardt & Kirsten, Koffer & Lederwarenfabrik, Tauscha-Leipzig. I have seen this marking on P.08 holsters before. The WaA number should be 101.

Regards, Leon

Thanks for the informatrion.
I heard back from the seller and what follows is his reply:

"Good day Sir.
The marking looks to be F.K.S.P. Not sure what that indicates? Now under the eagle it is marke WaA 101 again Im not sure what this indicates."

Best regards,
Mike
