I bought this one back in 2017 and it could very well be the one in the picture. Whatever, it looks to have been an everyday carry. Going to leave it in its present day condition lot of history in this gun...

Bought this one in El Paso a long time ago. Looks like it has seen a bit of use, maybe even adventure, out here in the "Wild West".

the tall Ranger on the left is Frank Hamer.....He is the Ranger who lead the group who stopped Bonnie and Clyde outside of Gibsland/Sailes area in western Louisiana on May 23, 1934....
Today is the 86th "anniversary" of the end of their careers............. Last edited by tomaustin; 05-23-2020 at 11:14 AM. Reason: .. |

Got this one out of an El Paso pawn shop in the '60s, probably came from Juarez just across the border. Judging from the grip embellishment, it might have spent some time on the hip of a Juarez cop.

There were gangs back then, but more like street punks shaking down tourists. Of course the cops weren't reluctant to "fine" tourists for minor (usually made-up) infractions. The heavy drugs and cartels came a little later.

As a born and raised Texan, it is a sad note that the Rangers have fallen out of favor... https://www.dallasnews.com/arts-ente...e-coming-down/
