Guys,
These are most likely two of the rarest in production for the double barrel Luftwaffe Flare guns. The Sander variation (with a very cool logo) was the first to be produced most likely in late 1934 or 1935. It is estimated around 500 were made and then production was made by Ecko with the secret "S" code like Lugers with the "G" code made in 1935. The serial number series continued with the "S" gun and through production of the Ecko series ending with 33,000 or so guns made. Both series were short lived with 6 examples of the Sander gun on record and very few of the "S" dated Ecko. ENJOY! Mark |

Most interesting, indeed! Thank you for sharing the pics and the story of their rarity.

Notice the early Luftwaffe acceptance and wood grips. In 1936 they were dated for a short time and then regular production starting in 1937 with typical phenolic resin grips.
Much later, around 1942 the Ecko logo and date were eliminated for the secret ojr code. However there are some of these guns with no date and the Ecko logo as a transition before the ojr code was in place with no dates. Mark |
