Just got my military surplus version of the Sportsman Guide, pg 22 Quote"Genuine! Used German Mil Luger Mag once fed the 9mmP08 during WWII. Now a limited supply of real mcCoys emerged from a cob infested warehouse. Each is springfed, complete witha machined wooden bottom. Condition used in very good shape. $49.97" (catalogue #92829)
I've been buying military surplus form this guy 10+ years, never had a disappointment. Its also the first time these have been offered. Caveat Empor, but this might be worth checking out. (www.sportsmanguide.com) Roadkill |

I just recieved two of the SG mags. OK for the price, but no bargain. Appear to be type 2 with replacement wooden bottoms. Or, type 1 that have been dip blued, the wood bottoms are unmarked, one was chipped. One mag had a small dent in it that will not effect function. However the springs are strong, although the packing grease will need to be cleaned out of them. -)
They also have takedown bolts, but they are repros; the back of the button is solid, not hollow. |

I haven't seen the SG wood bottomed mags but would guess that they are the same ones I saw at the SHOT show at a similar price. These are blue extruded tubes with rough hewn wood bottoms made post ww2 by the Finns. Tom h.
