Default Grip restoration, yes or no

I have a nice original condition 1915 DWM with all matching numbers. The grips are a little dark and dirty, but in great condition otherwise. Should I clean them up or just leave them as is? I don't want to compromise the value of the pistol.

Cleaning them up is not restoration to me.

Use some gentle hand soap (I actually like murphy's wood soap) and clean them with a toothbrush.

Then let them dry for a day or so, they are likely turn gray, that is okay

Then add some light coat(s) of tung oil or boiled linseed oil (its called that, you don't boil it) and they'll look much better.

Default Grips

I agree. Murphys oil soap works great. They'll look great.
