Hugh Jr received the Bronze Star for Valor before leaving Afghanistan to return to Ft. Richardson in Alaska. Made it through a year over there safely.

Lots of folks get the Bronze Star (in the big sense), from what I understand FEW get them with the Valor addition!!!!

That was his second trip, the first was a year in Iraq, where he was also recommended for a Bronze Star. Pitsword, His unit is the 725th Medical Support Battalion, Airborne.

Hugh, I congratulate this young warrior for his service and the prestigious award of the Bronz star. You can be proud. I am happy to hear he is home again. I can only hope all of our Soldiers come home soon.

Hugh the reason I ask is because I am also in a Stryker Brigade I am a Vehicle Commander with the 56th Stryker Brigade 28th ID in Pennsylvania.

I am with the Franklin Regiment 1/111th infantry We are out of the Philadelphia area, My armory is actually in West Chester But "The Gap" is out official home away from home although ,since we bacame a Stryker unit we do most of out training at Ft Dix NJ. Pitsword are you a Navy guy? If so I also did 4 years in the Navy. Wayne |

Hi Wayne,
Yes, did 4 1/2 years Navy Submarine service. Then Army, flew Huey's. Went to the Gap a few times for Simulator training. |
