Dear Steve M - FYI, and in case nobody else knows, here in UK it is illegal to possess any of the operating parts of any firearm, and I mean any parts, not just the barrel or receiver. A replacement for a cracked toggle on a commercial Mauser made in 1988 required an entry on a firearms certificate, and an Home office import licence to obtain! In the days when we could legally own cartridge firing handguns, a seperate barrel, f'rinstance, on the very rare Contender, was treated as a seperate firearm by the authorities. A friend of mine had six calibres for his Contender, and each barrel was treated like another handgun. Deep envy is the colour of the week over here, folks. But I'll get over it.....

Hi Terry,
Thanks for the info; I guess we over here should appreciate what we have and strive to retain it.. Thanks, Steve |
