I am going. I guess I need to make motel reservations. I was looking the other day but was iin no rush. Since other people are now thinking about it, I guess I better do it and be safe.
One of those things I guess but it has been hard to plan ahead that far this year. But time is getting close. I need to make plane reservations (beats driving 12 hours). Also I have to check and make sure I have an early in pass even though my table is free (compliments of management). Last year I forgot to ask early on for one and almost did not get one.

Hey Hugh,
Every time my head tells me it is time to go back to the Tulsa show, my feet speak up and say "no"...they still ache from 2 years ago. I am convinced that floor is of the hardest concrete made and known to Man. Nevertherless...hope you have a good time. |

Kelly,
I coming from the Houston/Beaumont area, and this will be my first time. It looks like about 8 hrs to me. There are two of us so it will be a non-stop drive on Friday and come back Sunday nite. Hugh

1 - Wear comfortable shoes and thick socks. 2 - Use/do cardio type exercises. Besides making walking easier, also good for the health. 3 - Find someone from the board who has a table and stop by to rest for the next trip. |

I skipped this time, even though it's only 3 hours drive. Something about being in a candy store when you have to finish remodeling a house...
Myself and several co-workers are going to go to the fall show though. |

Tulsa show; arrived in parking lot at 7:20 am, sat in car watching misty rain fall on windshield until noticed line forming at door at 7:40. Got in line with only about 25 ahead. Doors opened at 8am, by then the line extended into the parking lot and maybe to the street? This was one of 4 lines! Walked every isle and finished by 3:30pm. Was glad to see the last isle as leg cramps were getting bad.
Saw lots of overpriced Lugers. Bought a like new 3" nickeled Colt Detective Special ( a fairly rare model and the only 3" DS I saw at the show). Paid too much, but what the heck, it will be worth what I paid by this time next year!Visited with Ralph Shattuck & Tom Etowski who had adjacent tables. Ralph appeared in good health and spirits. Said that he missed the old Luger Forum get-togethers. Left show at 4:30, ate dinner and settled in motel room to watch boxing & basketball. Left for Texas @ 7:30 am Sunday. My impression: Same stuff that I see at the Houston gun shows, just a lot more of it. Really didn't see any bargains. If I go again, I'll get a table, getting to old for that much walkin!

I got there on Friday, it was my first time at the show. As Hugh said, many overpriced Lugers (IMHO, many were enhanced by the sellers). However, I managed to purchased an Artillery DWM 1917 about 95% bluing and 90% straw with MATCHING number stock and beautiful brown 1915 Holster with straps, cleaning rod and tool at a VERY fair price. The Artillery bore is perfect and it is all matching. It was the only Luger at this table! Now, the only thing I need is a mag pouch to go with it.
Needless to say, I am pretty happy. And, there are some good deals out there still available... Tony S. "SEMPER PARATUS" |

Tony et al, From the lack of repros, you appear to be one of the lucky ones who found a bargin. Are you still "guarding the coast"? TH USNR, RET.

Yes, I am still with the Coast Guard. However, I am not guarding it. I am flying a desk at the moment. I saw this rig and I figured that I had to have it. The price and condition merited its purchase without much hesitation.
