I recvall someone in the last year keeping track of the up to 50 Cartridge Counters that have been identified.
Does anyone have that list or know how many there are? No, Im not making one in the basement, just curious to know how many are there in case I want to make it my mission in life to own all of them - really, wouldnt that be cool? |

I have been tracking the observed serial numbers for quite a few years. To date, only eight of the original 50 have not been reported. Of the 42 that have been reported, there are at least three duplicates! If anyone contemplated owning all of them, they better have about $2M to invest and be prepared to be disappointed on a significant number of them.

Ron, Are you able to post the serial numbers of the duplicates as if I or anyone else would be lucky to encounter a Counter, would become wary of such a piece?

Doc,
If anyone is seriously contemplating the purchase of a Cartridge Counter, I would certainly tell them if the serial number is one that I have noted as a duplicate. But, I am reluctant to start posting serial numbers since the parties that own those particular Lugers are going to take considerable umbrage and I am not the Luger Police.

Plus---Ron's reporting of the serials known to him would allow the boosters to know the "missing" serial numbers; which I am sure would be then be used in short order on their next creations.
Don't forget that the all the major boosters are probably reading the LF and Jan's forum on a regular basis. |

Pete,
Wouldn't it be nice to 'invent' a rare luger and then watch how long it takes before one actually shows up? Kinda like the Japanese version ![]() |

Gerben,
Let's try the Swiss Papal guard lugers. Only 100 or so were made all with a pair of crossed Pope shoes on the chamber, similar to the crossed Russian rifles ![]() |
