Stock only original to the Artillery?

Hi,

I�´ve got a question concerning the stock of a S/42 Luger.
The metal parts are number-matching to the gun but the wooden part has obviously been renumbered as the original number still is visible.

My question now is:

Could the stock still be original to the gun (maybe some higher ranked soldier has ordered it to his rig)?
