1906 AE Mag

I was just asked how many numbers should be on mag of a 1906 AE Luger. I think the answer is none. I have three such Lugers and two have mags not marked and one has Germany stamped into the wood. Is my asnwer right and what guide lines are there? Are all civilian mags not numbered?
