Mauro, you're not alone, I used a download manager and then Winrar to open them and all I get is machine language.

3Dcafe posts the files in either 3D studio or autocad 3D files. You will need a CAD/CAM program that can import these file types.

Hi,

Use 3D-browsers or 3D-viewers
http://www.web3d.org/vrml/browpi.htm
Maybe WorldView or Cosmo Player

I think better 3D Browser Pro (Mootools software) http://www.mootools.com/
Download -
shareware - http://www.mootools.com/plugins/download/3DBrowser.exe
FREE - http://www.mootools.com/plugins/down...owserLight.exe

Sanya

Just an update... I was able to use the FREE 3DBrowserLight.exe application above to view and manipulate this 3D Luger model... The model can be turned in any direction using this software and you can zoom in and out...

Here is a screen capture from the viewer...click on this thumbnail image to see the image full size...

<a href="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/3dmodelpicleft.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/3dmodelpicleft.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a>

verrrrry impressive free viewer program. The software to create this model cost a few thousand dollars...

the Luger model isn't perfect (the right side of the frame is a mirror projection of the left side, but overall, this is a really neat 3D model...

enjoy! and thanks Sanya for sharing this information with the forum.

Thank you Sanya,
for the information about the free 3d Browser.
Do you know if there is an applet available to use the LugerLp08 3d file in a web site?
Thank you
Mauro

Hi, friends

Glad if it`s a little ineresting for you.

For John Sabato,
3DBrowserLight.exe (as and 3DBrowser Pro) generate image different than 3DMAX. 3DMAX give addition possibility to view not bed animation of luger shooting and inside construction on this model.
Not perfect modeling is a result of not serious work of modeller. But Luger models http://www.turbosquid.com/HTMLClient...earchKey/luger
have no a complete accuracy too, but they are costly.
The reason is in using pictures but not blueprints. When I can use a blueprint CD maybe I can organize a satisfy quality modeling.

For Mauro,
The best 3d player in a web site is Cult3d http://www.cult3d.com/
It`s very interesting site with many good links. Enjoy!

regards,

Sanya
