Post Vopo holster?

I got this holster with an Austrian rework AC 43 P-38. This is the first Vopo type holster I have seen are they uncommon? I don't usually keep leather unless it is originally with the rig.

Doug, I don't really know, but P38s weren't issued with loading tools, so are you saying it is a VOPO Luger holster? The vopo used a wide assortment of guns from what I read in Marshals book.

Ed, I assume that is a "combo" holster for either the P.08 or the P-38? The spare mag pouch is wide enough for a P-38 mag. I was sort of hoping others who know more about VOPO equipment would clarify.

Doug G, Your VOPO combo holster appears to be made of pig skin, which is a bit more scarce than the more common calf skin ones. These used to be more common than they are today, since the arrival of many DDR reworked lugers & P38s. Hence the increased demand for them. TH

Hi Doug,

Check out this discussion in the holster forum. I recently purchased a 1961 New Old Stock VOPO holster which comes very close to this one.

The holsters were indeed meant as a 'one size fits all' kinda affair.
