This is the second time I have seen one of these, the first about two years ago, anyone have any idea as to what it is??

Yes, it is a Japanese Nambu magazine, made for the Type or model 14.
I have seen several of these listed as "luger" over the last couple of years. Ed

Just a thought, last month my father was over, I took the occasion to show him my Type 14 Nambu rig. He made the statement that he always wanted to get a Japanese Luger. He fought the Japs in the Pacific as a member of the 503rd parachute infantry regiment. Perhaps the misnomer comes from PTO vets refering to the Nambu as a Japanese Luger.

Yes, I beleive so too, as I have heard and seen this in writing. Also, many British and US soldiers called anything a Luger if it came form Germany, on this forum, I have seen P38's, Radoms, Nambu's etc., called a Luger by family or vets.
