I would like to do a survey on forum members police Lugers and their magazines. Here is the information I think I would like. I put the info on my police in brackets [ ]

Chamber date: {1915]
1920 property mark [no]
serial number [8413 b]
Imperial proofs? [Yes, full]
Mfg mark on toggle [DWM}
unit marking {no}
sear safety [yes]
magazine safety (yes, no or removed) [no]
indications of post police use (like Wermacht
proofs added) [mid nazi army proof]
magazine type [extruded]
magazine proofs [*K]
mag manufacture mark [Schmeiser, arrow]
location [spine]
Mag bottom type [wood]
mag bottom marks [8413, 2]
Holster [yes]
year [1915]
type (police, military, converted) [conv]
Holster marks [P.S 9 / 93 x'd out]
[P.S. 194 x'd out]
[3732 x'd out]

Any thing else members think would be appropriate?
If there is interest I will try to put together a table like I did for the 06 navy conversions.

By a survey of "police Lugers," I assume you are referring to Weimar police or or do you mean all police Lugers through WWII? Also, why bother with mag descriptions unless they are matched to the gun? Unmatched mags could have come from anywhere.

Aaron, The percentage of unmatched magazines might be interesting.

Your question on Weimar v other police is a good one. Iwould certainly be interested in all police through 1945. There are a lot of VOPO and Russian pistols out there. I could put them on a seperaate list but there may not be much to be learned there. Does Tom Heller think that one worthwhile?

Also I will mention that the seial no. on the pistol will not be listed if the owner wishes it kept off. List will be posted on the forum if John Sabato makes the necessary modifications and beautifications.

My email is hahlers@fuse.net for those who wish to respond privately.

Thanks in advance
