Post Mec-Gar magazine / loading tool

Hi,

Picked up a new mecgar magazine at a local militaria show a few weeks ago. It functions beautifully but I found my loading tool doesn't fit.

The placement of the metal lip on the magazine is slightly different from that on the original magazines, so that the loading tool (which has a machined out slot for sliding over the metal lip) doesn't fit well and jumps off when I try to load the magazine.

Since I value my thumb I'm trying to find a loading tool that works on the mecgar magazines.

Anyone had this problem? Any differently shaped loading tools available?

Loading tools have a small "lip" on the inside of the hole. This lip slides under the magazine button. Some of these lips are sharp and thin and work well; others are thick and don't work with most magazines.

I use the Mec-Gar magazines with my Luger shooters, and I load them with the lower-cost loading tools from Sarco. I believe that Tom Heller carries these also.

Actually, Sarco did sell two types at one time. The more expensive of the two had what appeared to be a small eagle in a triangle on the front. This more expensive model had a thicker lip and did not work with my Mec-Gar mags, while the less expensive type ($6.85 the last time I ordered) has a thin, sharp lip and always works.

Regards,
Luke

I also have the unmarked loading tools from Sarco and it works on the Mec-Gar magazines that I have. For $6.95 plus S&H they can't be beat.
