Question Replacement Parts Availability

Crew,

I've been in love with the Luger for many years. Now it's getting to be the time to purchase one.

My first question is concerning replacement parts for the Luger. I want to own a shooter and will be shooting it as often as I can. With the act of shooting the Luger, ultimately down the road, something will break. I was wondering how readily available replacement parts are for the gun, how pricey they are, and where would be some good places to purchase these parts (online stores, mail order, etc.).

Thanks a bunch. You're got a great forum here. Just what I was looking for to fuel my fire to own a Luger.

Parts will be available for many years as guns get parted out... prices will never come down...

Buy one... and enjoy it and pay the price when the time comes to replace something... There are over 1491 members world-wide on this forum and several deal in parts...

If you just want a Luger to shoot... you can buy one of the new Stainless Steel guns, one of the 1970 Muaser variations, or a parts gun from WW2 or earlier...

Welcome to the Lugerforum.

Thanks for the reply, John. WWII Mauser's are my interest. I'm doing a little research before I post a wanted add on the forum, though. Don't know much about them, just that I like them. Had the priviledge of shooting one in my youth and have been in love with them ever since. Don't know a thing about the one I shot, though. Kinda wish I did now.

In any event, I love the forum and the wealth of information it.

With regards to parts, are there any new parts being made for these guns? Reproduction parts or whatnot, or is a person's only avenue for parts are those from used guns? Just curious.

Thanks.

There are some reproduction parts being made... and of course, parts from Mauser's 1970's production can be fitted to the originals...

I have seen sideplates and magazines and many parts that were made by the East Germans during the cold war period when they were using them for police functions...plus all the used parts...

Don't let parts availability be an obstacle... This design has lasted over 100 years and will probably out live you and me both.

Thanks, John. You've eased my worries about such a purchase a bit.
