interarms mauser

i just got my first luger, an interarms mauser .30 luger with 6" barrel. it suffers from loose grips. is there any way to fix this?

You will want to do a search, as this topic has been discussed in the past, and some discussion was fairly recently. Congrats on your FIRST Luger.....they are quite addicting!!

Often times a small fiber washer on the grip screws helps tighten them up. Sometimes I'll add a drop of glue or Accraglass to the area where the looseness is the most apparent, then after it dries use a dremel or file to take the glue down until the grip just fits. But try the washer first.

Depends on the type.
Early grips had small brass pins at the edge to keep them in place. Later versions relied on a metal pin through the frame.

It will be obvious when the grips are removed.

A soft rubber or neoprene O-ring of appropriate size is used by some to stabilize loose grips.

Works with the original design grips;
but the 1970s Mauser grips are different and the problem is associated with the small pins that are "supposed" to hold the upper part of the grip within the frame.

i must have an early luger, as the grips have two pins in each of them. i was able to tighten them by shimming the bottoms, with thin pieces of plastic.
