Default Extension?

I see parts for a long extension and parts for a short
extension. I have a 20's luger and a 39 luger. I measured
them both and don't see any difference, other than one
has a 1/4'' longer barrel.
It did take me a while to actually see the difference in the
Mauser hump, so maybe I'm missing it.

Tex, the 2 lugers that you mentioned both have the short receiver. The 1/4" longer receiver (barrel extention) is usually only found on most of the M1906 7.65mm and all M1900 grip safety type lugers and pre 08 Navies. Although I have seen some left over long receivers & frames that were used in the 1920s, usually on Carbines. TH

Extension = shoulder stock?
Or what are you looking at where?

Extension should be the upper or receiver

Unless you try to put an early 1900 onto a newer frame it should just work (possibly slight modifications).

Here is the early frame tutorial that Ron Wood made up years ago

note - puretexan - you must be used to a typewriter as it looks like you hit the ''return'' each line

Thanks Lugerdoc. That is why I couldn't see the difference....I don't have the
right one. Guess I have to buy more.

Sorry Mr Tinker, I posted something somewhere and it cut the post into shorter
lines and looked really goofy. I got use to just hitting the return before it filled
up the whole page.

Here is a visual for you, a 1906 upper on a long lower.
