Saw back bayonets were issued to troops involved in areas of battlefield construction such as combat engineers, artillery troops and telegraph and telephone troops~

I have a saw back bayonet marked with a crown with a W underneath and the number 16 underneath that. Made by J. Corts Sohn at Remscheid. Overall length in sheath: 20 3/8"
