Default Shooter for sale, GB.com

Not sure if the seller is a member here, but I've seen the name before. Anyway, although the sideplate and mag. do not match, and the finish is spotty, this may make someone a good shooter, depending on how high it goes.

I have no skin in this game.

I follow this seller on GB, he has many of the items we like. He acts like he wants to sell rather than have a price that is never reached resulting in a thousand relistings. I purchased a German flare pistol from him several months ago, accurate information with a quick ship time. I would buy from him again.

some people on main gunboards call him 'grey blanket' and seem to bitch about everything he has

I personally have seen many items he has for sale that I was interested in - like you said, he has decent prices. I wonder where he gets so much stuff. Guess after a while it just becomes word of mouth

He is a retired Marine armorer and a friend of mine. His internet business is supported with the help of several family members while he works gun shows almost every weekend of the year. He is as honest as the (summer day) is long.

He certainly missed that the sideplate was mismatched. But it does look like a good shooter with no reserve. It will be interesting to see where the hammer drops.

George, thanks for that information on the seller. I've seen some of the comments on the Gunboards site. We all evaluate items we're interested in buying with a calculating eye. I made the comment regarding having a "selling" price due to the many sellers on GB that never sell their item. Caution, rant on! Do you want to sell your item or are you just promoting yourself? What is the point of having the item re-listed 20 or more times? You are just pissing off folks to the point they will ignore your listings. Rant off. "sreisel" has items that are for sale and more importantly, can be bought.

Eisel is indeed a stand up guy, I've bought several items from him; and also sold parts of my collection to him.

He spends probably 80% of his time on the road, traveling the country, to shows and to individuals with collections to disperse.

He is in "business" not a collector; and knows a moderate amount about a LOT of stuff; but is not an "expert". His descriptions are usually written by his nephew who searches their library and the net for info. Sometimes they make mistakes or miss things, - don't we all?- but have an ironclad return guarantee.

Yes, sometimes he gets crazy good prices- not his fault- it is the "bidders" and there is no "shill" involved. Equally, sometimes great items sell at ridiculously low prices- I know I have bought a couple!

If you see something in an auction description that is not quite right, send them a message- he appreciates it and if warranted will change or add to the description.

+1 ^^^ Don and George. He sets up at the local show and I have met him thru a mutual acquaintance there.

Yes he gets a lot of bad press over on the Gun boards because they think he is either omitting important info or just plain humping a piece.

He does a lot of buying at auctions and ends up using the descriptions from the catalogs.
