I've been into surplus firearms for about 8-9 years now and the very first was an all matching unissued Yugo SKS that I remember cost me 169 bucks!
It was sold off a while after when I found a really nice Russian. Then it was off to Russian captured k98's, and then the search for an all matching "bring back" began. What a minefield of fakery.... Seven years I think it took to finally get an honest one. I've always wanted a Luger....pfhh...but who hasn't? lol I've not seen but probably a dozen at most here where I live and even those that I've seen were beyond my budget. I figured, well, one day, right place and right time and all that jazz. Fast forward to last Thursday when a buddy calls me and tells me that, Ted, a mutual friend has a Luger with him that he's interested in parting with. So I go check this Luger out and we work out a trade. I offered up a pistol and a shotgun, both of which I have a total cash value of $490 in to. He accepted the trade. Maybe I could have done better by selling the two firearms that I traded off, but after shipping and fees if done online, it would have been pretty close to what I would have gotten via private sales locally, which I speculate would have been about $800 at most, but that is just speculation..... O.k....enough rambling....... Bad part is that the side plate is MIA. Ted swears that the side plate was with the pistol when he saw it a while back, when he looked at it, at the fellow's house of whom Ted bought it from. Latest update is that the original owner knows he's seen it, but where it was last seen is the million dollar question...... ![]() So, without further procrastination, and after crunching info the past few days, here's what I've got: 1914 DWM military. All matching less the side plate and magazine at the moment. Bore is in decent shape. I took these pictures and wasn't quite done when the rain started to drop, so I'll get more later if requested. (note: snap cap in chamber to get a pic of the "flag") |
