This is a well known fantasy piece and worth nothing.

I don't know a thing about paratrooper knifes, but that canted swastika on the blade screams fake. They just wouldn't do it like that, would be straight or at 45 degrees...

Thanks guys, thought it looked dubious at best. The odd swastika like Olle said really had me suspicious.

I'm not an expert, especially on blades, but one thing that I do know is that the market is chock full of fakes, so be careful. Kind regards.

I believe in a real one the pieces that make up the grip are brass but the blade is steel. I also have a copy like yours, but without all the symbols and writing.

There were never any "real" German military knives that remotely resembled this "butterfly" design. They are ALL fake. The only real Paratrooper knife is the one pictured above. German soldiers also carried "Puma" clasp knives and their issued field knives, but never anything like the one from the original post.

I find it humorous that the more Nazified an object is the more believable it will be.

Years ago those knives were pretty common.
All fantasy pieces, though. |
