(revisit) Luger/Walther Display....for starters

Hi Guys - First of all I hope this is OK to post, but I do so because of some previous forum history....Several years ago (in 2011), after the kind members of this forum gave me a quick Luger education leading up to my first purchase (a 1939 Mauser), I posting a project I did to display my new treasures. You guys were very kind in your feedback, but more importantly I had several requests regarding making other cases.

Since then, I have continued along making displays for my other WW2 items and trying to hone my craft which remains an aside to my real job. After receiving a lot of requests, I've decided to try to offer some of these items on a custom made basis. I'm still figuring things out to be honest, but while I'm 5 years late I wanted to get back to the members who asked. I have a new FB page for some of these items and I'd welcome you to take a look and throw us a "like" so that you could keep an eye on things if any project interests you.

In the meantime, here are some of our projects which I hope you may find interesting!

Three projects: First is the Luger/P-38 Display, the second is an M1 Garand/D-Day Tribute with sand from the invasion beaches and a 1942 Garand, and the third is a new Ammo Crate inspired display for an 88mm Armor Piercing round for a Tiger Tanks.

Scott, both in craftsmanship and in design concept these are outstanding pieces. They exceed anything I have ever seen for display of our firearms in museums.

Could we also see a straight on shot of the center top of the Luger / P.38 case and the top of the M1 Garand case?

Thanks so much Marc - That's very kind indeed. Here are the requested pics.

The Garand display features a drawing by an artist named Bruce Walters. Mr. Walters was actually commissioned by Springfield to do this piece for a commemorative edition of the Garand they were selling a few years back that came with a reproduction rifle ammo case. I saw the artwork and really loved it, tracked him down and he was kind enough to sell me a couple extras he had laying around.

In regards to the Luger case top, to be honest I'm not really thrilled with how it came out, but that was before I had any CNC capabilities and could make it myself. I designed the image, but had a laser burning place cut it for me. I think it's a little too "faded" looking and I'm not sure I'm in love with the overall design. I also (clearly) shied away from using a true Reichsadler with a Swastika - I try to be sensitive of other people's reactions, and yet I prefer to stick to historical authenticity so I'm often torn! Either way, if I make more of these displays, I think that's a real area for improvement!

Congratulations for your impressive wood working, quite posh, I think one should only put nothing less than "top class one of a kind vintage guns" in those works of art.
