What does the magazine safety look like on police Lugers?

Look for one in the archives. It is a bent piece of spring steel, which went behind the trigger. Inserting a magazine pushed it out of the trigger's way and allowed the pistol to be fired. It was a poor design that didn't always work, so it was done away with.

Here's a photo of one that was deactivated by removing the portion that went behind the trigger.

Thanks for the responses and picture. I had a difficult time imaging what this looked like. I picked up a police Luger that was in pieces in a box and want to assemble. There is the large hole in the frame above the trigger and the cut in the flat above the left grip.

I entered several different Police Luger Magazine Safety in the faq search bar. They all came up "No Match".
