Dear forum members!
I appreciate any information about this marking found on Erfrurt 1912. IS this army or police? Thanks in advance, Alexander |

It is Army and a rather scarce marking. I believe it is a Bavarian telephone unit. The "B" indicates Bavaria, the script "F" is for Fernsprech (telephone) - or it might ever be for Funken (telegraph). I have never seen a script "C" before so I am at a loss there. The "A" is for Abteilung (detachment). and the 43 is an inventory number.

What looks like is script C is a T.
It means Bayrische Funken Telegraphen Abteilung Waffe 43. Bavaria used a few other script letters than Prussia in their stamping order. |

Thank you Klaus. I seem to recall that the character is a "T" but had forgotten it. I appreciate the reminder!
Ron
