Default Thoughts on 1938 S/42 looking to buy

Hello all,

I am new to the Luger world and specifically the P08. I am looking to buy my first P08 and want to be sure I am doing it right. I would like to purchase a WWII era gun in original condition.

I would appreciate some of your expert opinions on a 1938 S/42 that is for sale. The asking price is $2095 for this all numbers matching P08 with one matching magazine. Here are some pics of the gun:

I appreciate your looking and your comments. If you need any other info, let me know.

Thanks,
Brian

While nice I don't think the overall condition warrants a price over $2,000.

I would be in the $1800 +/- area.

Agreed. Price is quite a bit high for that condition. I'd wait for a better one to come along.

I think that it would be a good buy at $ 1,500.00 - $ 1,600.00 with matching mag, yeah.
thanks

Here is the one photo of magazine bottom.

Thank you for all your responses. I have tried multiple times to contact the seller to make an offer but have not received any responses. It looks like I may have to pass on this one and keep looking.

I appreciate the help.

Assuming that the suffix on the frame is also "i", then the mag bottom passes the sniff test.
Let us know how negotiations go.

Agree with the above. $1500-$1600 is top dollar. It is missing to much finish.
