Default Luger Ammo

What are functional loads for 4 & 6 inch bbl Lugers

[ minimum jams and holdopen functions correctly ] ?

Do not want to 'tune' the pistol [ modify recoil spring ].

We now use 4.3 grns AA-2 with a 125 grn FMJ ball.

This functions well with 6" bbls, but only fair with 4" bbls.

Thank You

Jim, Welcome to the forum. I'm no great reloader, but you should mention that your lugers are the new 1970s Mauser Parabellums, as these seem to be a bit more ammo sensitive than the old battle worn PO8s.

Tom, thanks : We have experimented with both the older and newer Lugers in 4" bbls, but only the new Mauser Lugers in 6" bbl size. Will send you printouts of details
