Hey guys, new collector here. I have a 1937 S/42 (5988a) that I want to eventually shoot occasionally. Any specific ammo manufactuter you like? Thanks so much.

Bill, welcome to the forum!
First, you will hear from collectors is, is your 1937 a collectable? And the reason is, if matched (not counting magazine) and you break a numbered part, it goes from a collectable to a shooter or close to it in price. Anyway, nothing too dramatic in power, no +p or super oomph needed. I have used many types of round nose, but the one you'll hear talk about is White box Winchester, it seems to feed in many lugers fine. Ed

I've used WWB (Winchester White Box), PMC, Blazer Brass, and some Bayou Bullets reloads without issue. All 115gr FMJ standard load pressures. Don't use ANY +P or NATO.

Generally any standard pressure. I.E. Magtech, S&B, Blazer, AE, Federal, Remington UMC, etc. The cleaner burning the better IMO.
