Talking Male Domination

Seems this is a male dominated hobby, but I'd be interested to know roughly what percentage of woman are in this hobby

Whatever it is, it's increasing...There has been a significant increase in women visiting my LGS this last year...And the display of pink & baby blue handguns, as well as smaller size handguns, has taken over a complete shelf in the display case...

Good for them...

I also saw some pink AR15 in LGS. Saw a few ladies in store buying handguns,,,, "normal" color Walther pocket pistols.

All three of my daughters are very experienced with class 3 weapons and destructive devices.

One daughter no longer has any guns around the house (known to her husband) since her husband is a wimp.

The other two do. Of these two, one likes to hunt. (See Picture.)

Looks like a cute girl with her deer ?

Then the second picture is of a different daughter (June, 2013) with her last child. Looks cute.

but any of the three daughters, if you really cross them, will kill you and I mean it literally.

Oh, and they do not like colored weapons like pink, cameo, etc.

One does not like a muzzle brake on her rifles as she claims that they make a big ball of fire, which makes it easy to be spotted.

My wife likes to blaze away with her .357 - usually loaded with .38 spcl. Doesn't like automatics 'cause of the flying brass, give 'er a revolver!

Is 'cameo' that robin's egg blue color??? I am thinking that women like to have pink/blue colors because they know it will always be THEIR go-to gun, and nobody else's...And they're right...

I ain't carrying the days receipts to the night deposit with a pink Chief's Special...

No, I was talking about the camouflage ones. My daughters would be more concerned about how well they work, not the color.

Not sure this is a answer, but at the Lakeland gun show there were many very attractive ladies on both sides of the dealer tables. Most look very interested in various hand guns, but no pink ones.

Talking about pink objects...

One of my duties at work is to maintain a rather large fleet of loaner laptop computers, check them in and out, etc. Gals usually bring them back no problems; but at least 50% of the time, I have to go after the guys who want to keep them for months.

We have one small netbook which is in a bright PINK bag. The guys *ALWAYS* bring it back on time! I'm threatening to buy pink bags for the entire fleet...

Pink does not bother me. Some years ago (2 houses ago) my wife wanted to paint the bedroom pink. Actually was not a bad color.

As to pink guns - again they would not bother me and actually might give me an advantage while the other guy was laughing. Whatever it takes to get the advantage is fine with me.

Pink doesn't bother me either - I even have a pink/fuchsia costume. But it bothers a lot of guys, if not most! There are a lot of interesting reasons for that.

My most recent NRA Basic Pistol and state certified Concealed Carry classes have had a majority of women students.

On the collecting side, I have not encountered that many women interested in this. Over at the Smith and Wesson forum we have a small number of women participating. Not so many on the military firearms forums.

The manufacturer's movement to market firearms that supposedly are more appealing to women is interesting. I suppose it got started with the "Ladysmith" line.

The sketch artists are having their odd fantasies:

More interesting is this:

And... they got the handgun wrong, but I suppose that this is a start:
