The one state I have never really visited (Ft. Lauderdale one night stop over on a cruse is not a visit....LOL). Those pictures depict such peace and serenity that I really want to go see that place.

Hope the recent flooding hasn't done too much damage.

They were smart! They dug out a like and used the fill to raise the homes. You can rent a home for $1400/mo. Included is everything, water, lawn' pools service etc !

The snowbirds are coming soon but keep them on the East Coast. Florida is a good place for sure.

Spring Break has moved to places like Panama City for the young folk.

I have a home on Marco Island and that is where I plan to retire. The West Coast is night and day from the East Coast in deep South Florida, (Colliere and Lee counties versus Dade and Broward). Further north they are more similar. Most of the retirees in Colliere county are Midwesterners, which is fine by me. Liberal, progressive Northeasterners or West Coasters who come to Marco looking soon realize that we are 95% Conservative, Republican and most move on. We can only hope that it stays that way.

Sounds like you made the right choice. I'm been to Sanibel. A real paradise~~

We are very much like Sanibel, but much more established with a more modern infrastructure.

Like Sanibel, we have superb, clean beaches. Marco Island was recently voted by Trip Adviser to be the number 3 Island destination in the US!!
