All:
I am thinking of acquiring a Weimar Lugar, marked L.P.Th.Nr.1100. Cost is $1100, finish is 85-90%, bore is average to decent. External matching numbers except the mag. Way better trigger than I'm used to on a Lugar, making me think someone screwed around with it at some point. I do plan to shoot it, but not much. Insight into the gun? Good value? I know it's Landspolizei, Thuringer, but no idea how rare or valuable this one might be. Thanks! |

Chamber date, manufactured by...? Sear or mag. safety? If it is all matching in and out, and with a good trigger, $1100 isn't really out of line.
Luger trigger pulls can me hit and miss, some are just better than others. Sometimes it seems like magic, but good 'smithing helps. If photos are not possible I'm not sure what else can be established here. Definitely need info. to be able to help. dju |

Does it have a sear safety? Can you post pics?

It's a DWM, all matching parts inside and out even the firing pen, breach date of 1920. It was reblued (very well) probably when it was reissued to the Thuringer Polizei. Strawing is sold on the extractor, decent on the safety, weak on the trigger.
Asking price is now $1,295. Finish (refinish though it may be) is probably 90% based upon my looking at it today. This is my first Luger, something I've dreamed of for many years, and I WILL shoot it--some. So long as I'm not getting raped, this is probably the gun I've been waiting for. Thoughts? |

How do I tell if it has a sear or mag safety?

I should add that it has the Weimar stamp, no Nazi proofs, and is marked as issued to Thuringer Polizei as noted above.
All in all, a very nice gun from what I can see. Only have one pic, but will try to figure out how to post that. Once I buy it, I'll post a bunch. ![]() |

$1100 was a borderline deal, but $1300 seems pretty steep to me for a refinished police gun.

If it is a re-blue, probably done post war and really knocks the collect-ability out of it. Most guys here wouldn't pay more than $700 if that's the case.
Really need good photos for a honest evaluation. Bob |
