I inherited a 1938 Luger and it appears to be a matching number, and in near mint condition. How can I go about getting a value on it? I also want to know if it is a shooter or not, or will that effect the value?thanks

As stated, without pictures an evaluation is impossible.

Well if it is in near mint condition, as in original finish not a reblue, and has all numbered parts then it is not a shooter.

I hate to ask but can you show a close up of the serial number on the front of the frame and the one on the barrel and also a closeup of the left side of the rear of the pistol where the safety and letters gesichert are. I dont know why people dont show serial numbers I dont think anyone can get any info on them unless they are police. the reason I ask is it helps to determine if the gun has been reblued.

Appears to be a nice gun. If it turns out to be genuine, orig. finish and a really matching mag., I'd guesimate it at $1750. Check for similar guns on Simpson, Ltd.

I put a few more pics up, as well as the 1911 that came with it.
