I had the fortunate opurtunity to spend the afternoon with Ed ( and a few other good friends) in Allentown this weekend and look over a proof copy of their new book. This book will be well worth the asking price. It is full of excelent color pics of many variations of police lugers, proofs, leather, tools, and mags from Weimar thru East German period, with to the point explinations. To be honest, I had my doubts with their book comming out on the heals of Don Mause's bible on the subject (HWIS). Wrong! They pulled it off. My opinion is that the two books will compliment each other. Their book will bring someone even without any knowledge of this confusing topic up to speed where they will be able to understand what, where, why, and how, and is an easy read. The book starts off in Imperial Germany, and explains the turmoil after the Great War, leading to why these police forces were so important to the times. It travels into the Weimar era, then into Nazi era, and finally post WWII. It is full of maps, period photos, pictures of examples, And tables. They cover the 1920 property mark, police safeties, reworked imperial, new manufacture, as well as commercial diverted to police use. Their is a good portion refering to holsters, tools, and mags. They also go into the post WWII Vopo lugers quite well. My hat is off to them on another fine book to add to our library on Luger pistols. You will not be disapointed in it. Thanks Guys, John
